Speaking of Wikileaks, Consortium News has just published an article discussing Seymour Hersh's remarks that Seth Rich provided the DNC e-mails to Wikileaks. The article, written by Joe Lauria and titled "A New Twist in the Seth Rich Murder Case", includes the following passage:

[quote]

... In the audiotape – which Hersh told me [Lauria] was made without his permission – he quoted an unnamed government source who told him that Rich offered the DNC emails to WikiLeaks in exchange for money.

“What I know comes off an FBI report. Don’t ask me how. You can figure it out, I’ve been around a long time,” Hersh says on the tape. “I have somebody on the inside who will go and read a file for me. This person is unbelievably accurate and careful, he’s a very high-level guy and he’ll do a favor. You’re just going to have to trust me.”

The FBI cyber unit got involved after the D.C. police were unable to access protected files on Rich’s computer, Hersh said. So the FBI “found what he’d done. He had submitted a series of documents, of emails. Some juicy emails from the DNC,” to Wikileaks, Hersh said.

“He offered a sample, an extensive sample, you know I’m sure dozens of emails and said ‘I want money.’ Then later Wikileaks did get the password, he had a Dropbox, a protected Dropbox,” Hersh said.

“Wikileaks got access, and before he was killed … he also, and this is also in the FBI report, he also let people know, with whom he was dealing. … I don’t know how he dealt with the Wikileaks and the mechanism but … the word was passed according to the NSA report, ‘I’ve also shared this box with a couple of friends so if anything happens to me it’s not going to solve your problem.’” Hersh said he didn’t know what this “problem” was.

Either Hersh misspoke when he mentioned an “NSA report,” instead meaning the FBI report, or the National Security Agency may have provided a record of Rich’s communication to the FBI. Both the FBI and the D.C. police have denied that the FBI got involved in the case

Robert "The FBI White-Washer" Mueller will use all his tricks to conceal the FBI's knowledge of this murder -- just like Mueller's BFF "Crazy Comey the Leaker" did.

I wanted to see if there is away to eliminate google from my life so of course I googled it. Looks hard, they seem to own me.
Does Wikileaks pay Google comparable salaries? I had the impression it was a bunch of true believers working for peanuts.
I will now sign in with my google acct.

Hersh is an unreliable guy but has gotten a lot correct.

The Rich story has political murder all over it.

Seymour Hersh! He's never been wrong about anything!

Hersh's claim should be verifiable.

President Trump should begin declassifying all the secret documents that the Intelligence Community has created in its bogus RussiaGate investigation.

Today, for example, he should declassify and release the FISA request of June 2016, along with all its supporting documents and the FISA judge's decision.

By the end of this week, Trump should declassify and release all the FBI's documents about Seth Rich -- in particular any forensic analysis that the FBI did of Rich's computer. If the FBI never did such an analysis, then it should declare so.

Sure, Robert "The FBI White-Washer" Mueller wants to conceal forever all information about the FBI and Rich, but Trump does not have to go along with Mueller's intention.

Consider a recent story from Australia, where someone at Facebook told advertisers that they had the ability to target teens who were sad or depressed, which made them more susceptible to advertising. In the United States, Facebook once demonstrated its ability to make users happier or sadder by manipulating their news feed. While it did not turn either capability into a product, the fact remains that Facebook influences the emotional state of users every moment of every day. Former Google design ethicist Tristan Harris calls this "brain hacking."

James Damore did not say that women were unsuited for tech jobs - but that is what is being falsely reported.

So the question: Did the "news" reporters not actually read the guy's post, or do they not care what it said and are just happy to report the lie because it fits their preferred narrative?

Wow, I can't wait to see the Wikileaks Employee Manual. Do they really "hire" a-n-y-b-o-d-y?

Where, uh, is Wikileaks incorporated? Who's their corporate counsel? If Damore agrees to be "hired" by Wikileaks, who issues his W2?

They will tell you that open-mindedness is a virtue, but all perspectives that challenge the exceptionalist drive at the heart of American foreign policy will remain invisible to them. This is the impenetrable banality of “don’t be evil.” They believe that they are doing good. And that is a problem.

It's funny, Assange clearly believes whatever it is he himself is doing is truly good and wise, casting Eric Schmidt and Google as this foolishly idealistic and dangerously destructive organization (which they certainly have can be and have been at times) meddling in world affairs. But Assange doesn't seem to see or understand the irony here.

It's funny because it's true.

My guess is that they are absolutely unable to tell the difference between what he wrote and what they report he wrote.

Neither? The sad truth is that most of 'em really are too stupid to understand even the simplest statistical argument. They are the sort of people who, when told "There are significantly more males than females with high mathematical aptitude/interests," immediately fire back "That isn't true! How dare you spread such sexist lies! My neighbor's daughter got an 800 on the SAT-Q and goes to MIT!"

I'm not exaggerating the above for effect. I cannot count the number of arguments I've had, online and off, that follow exactly that form. Not that we have any evidence to support the contention that these writers are honorable people, but we do tend to underestimate just how thick a lot of them are.

Not saying that dumb people puffed up with pathological levels of moral vanity aren't dangerous, mind you.

He said that more men than women were suited for some tech jobs, or, at least, it was silly to think that 50% of all tech jobs should be filled by women and 50% by men, when we don't say the same thing about any other occupation.
In just about every state in the Union, there are about two male doctors for every female doctor. Doctors make good money. Why no jeremiads about that disparity?
I think that it is because it takes real work and dedication to be a doctor. A software engineer makes $125k/year after graduating from the same four-year college as the SJW's. The SJW's can't see themselves as doctors, but they can see themselves sitting in an office, typing away at a keyboard, but making twice as much (at least) as the office jobs that the SJW's are actually qualified to perform.

Google is the source of a very large portion of advertising revenue for most MSM online operations.

This is a very important business partnership and no doubt one of the more important ways much of the MSM is subsidized.

So, follow the money.

Do teens use Facebook? I thought they were all on tumblr or using Snapchat.
