Are you trying to give Laslo material to work with?

Like Binary Trump:
"IN AMERICA WE DON'T WORSHIP GOVERNMENT - WE WORSHIP GOD!" 10:21 AM - 26 Jul 2017

I don't believe in god(s) and think government is a necessary evil, so I wonder where Binary Trump thinks I am.

More importantly, it's still National Moth Week, July 22-30.

The only interesting article I saw on the morning tour of the news sites was the one at the Times headlined, "Finland Has a Sports Screw Loose". Wife-carrying, mosquito-hunting, hobbyhorse-riding. Who knew hobbyhorses were still a thing?

Ferdinand...believe as you please, but still credit Calvinist Reformed Christianity( Presbyterians from Scottish ancestry) with a fearless leadership style that in Trump has found its own. You could read some biography on Thomas J. Jackson, a West Viginian who epitomized it. And President Jackson that lived it out. And belief in God's providence is its essence.

Binary Baby

Oh,
Binary Baby,
take a byte out of me!
Cut my ignorance in half,
then give it back.
Please!

It’s not how they define it,
that part’s just their dance.
They do analog watuzis,
When it suits their
Stash.

Satan’s
smoke don’t blow,
binarily,
it’s a gas in the wind.
No charge!
It’s free!

Oh,
Binary Baby!
Honey, make me believe!
You dirty-talking skamp,
singing,
“Trust me! Please!“

Oh!
Binary Baby,
I’ll do you as please.
One more byte, little honey,
and I’m on my knees.

https://consortiumnews.com/2017/07/24/intel-vets-challenge-russia-hack-evidence/

Key passages:

Independent analyst Skip Folden, a retired IBM Program Manager for Information Technology US, who examined the recent forensic findings, is a co-author of this Memorandum. He has drafted a more detailed technical report titled “Cyber-Forensic Investigation of ‘Russian Hack’ and Missing Intelligence Community Disclaimers,” and sent it to the offices of the Special Counsel and the Attorney General. VIPS member William Binney, a former Technical Director at the National Security Agency, and other senior NSA “alumni” in VIPS attest to the professionalism of the independent forensic findings.

[....]

From the information available, we conclude that the same inside-DNC, copy/leak process was used at two different times, by two different entities, for two distinctly different purposes:

(1) an inside leak to WikiLeaks before Julian Assange announced on June 12, 2016, that he had DNC documents and planned to publish them (which he did on July 22) – the presumed objective being to expose strong DNC bias toward the Clinton candidacy; and

(2) a separate leak on July 5, 2016, to pre-emptively taint anything WikiLeaks might later publish by “showing” it came from a “Russian hack.”

Mike Sylwester said...

In other words, an insider at the Democratic National Committee downloaded e-mail files and gave it to Wikileaks in early June 2016.

Then on July 5, 2016, someone downloaded e-mail files at the DNC in such a way that fake indicators of Russia were added to the download.

Mike Sylwester said...

As far as I understand, the second download -- the one with the inserted fake indicators of Russia -- was the version that was provided for the analysis.

Mike Sylwester said...

Here is a better excerpt from the article:

The Time Sequence

June 12, 2016: Assange announces WikiLeaks is about to publish “emails related to Hillary Clinton.”

June 15, 2016: DNC contractor Crowdstrike, (with a dubious professional record and multiple conflicts of interest) announces that malware has been found on the DNC server and claims there is evidence it was injected by Russians.

June 15, 2016: On the same day, “Guccifer 2.0” affirms the DNC statement; claims responsibility for the “hack;” claims to be a WikiLeaks source; and posts a document that the forensics show was synthetically tainted with “Russian fingerprints.”

We do not think that the June 12 & 15 timing was pure coincidence. Rather, it suggests the start of a pre-emptive move to associate Russia with anything WikiLeaks might have been about to publish and to “show” that it came from a Russian hack.

The Key Event

July 5, 2016: In the early evening, Eastern Daylight Time, someone working in the EDT time zone with a computer directly connected to the DNC server or DNC Local Area Network, copied 1,976 MegaBytes of data in 87 seconds onto an external storage device. That speed is many times faster than what is physically possible with a hack.

It thus appears that the purported “hack” of the DNC by Guccifer 2.0 (the self-proclaimed WikiLeaks source) was not a hack by Russia or anyone else, but was rather a copy of DNC data onto an external storage device. Moreover, the forensics performed on the metadata reveal there was a subsequent synthetic insertion – a cut-and-paste job using a Russian template, with the clear aim of attributing the data to a “Russian hack.” This was all performed in the East Coast time zone.

Gotta love that quote. It might go down with Bill Gates saying nobody needs more than 640kb.

I think it will turn out that Seth Rich did the first download and then Debby Wasserman Schultz's Pakistani IT employees did the second download, where the fake indicators of Russia were inserted. Then that second download was provided for the analysis.

Michael K said...

I think I agree. Rich probably used a thumb drive and the Pakis may have too. I doubt this was an online hack.

I think he prevented the FBI from examining the DNC hardware.

News from the Fake News front.

A prominent human rights activist is providing the Senate Judiciary Committee with new information on Wednesday about Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the dossier of anti-Trump research compiled last year by former British spy Christopher Steele.

Thor Halvorssen, the founder of the Human Rights Foundation, says in a letter to the committee that Fusion GPS targeted him and several other people because of their criticism of Derwick Associates, a Venezuelan energy company reportedly under investigation for an alleged multi-billion dollar kickback scheme.

Fusion GPS are “highly paid smear experts,” Halvorssen says in the testimony, a copy of which was obtained by The Daily Caller.

The second attacker is also described as Asian[sic], in his early 20s, 5ft 6 or 7ins tall, of large build with a tight-cropped beard and was wearing a blue jumper and black jeans.

Brilliant!

I just had lunch with my best friend and his Irish wife (who are both die hard leftists) which turned into a thorough interrogation and attempted belittling of my conservative values. One of things she asked was what I thought about climate change. One of my points was along those lines, that the earth's climate has only been compatible with human existence for a relatively short period of it's existence.

P.S. And yes, my best friend of 30+ years and I are at the exact opposite ends of the political spectrum. Makes for interesting conversations but hasn't affected our friendship in any way.
